Yankees memorable legend Whitey Ford has passed away at 91
New York- Yankees Superstar pitcher Whitey Ford has passed away on Thursday at the age of 91.
Ford was an all around man that served his community in a positive manner outside of his iconic baseball career for the New York Yankees. During Ford's MLB career, he was a six time World Series Champion, 10 time All-Star, and won the CY Young Award in 1961. His impeccable career with the Yankees earned him recognition as was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 1974.
Ford was the heartbeat for the Yankees during his 16 season career and broke history with 236 victories, which is the most in club history, as well as a .690 winning percentage. "The Yankees are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Hall of Famer Whitey Ford. Whitey spent his entire 16-year career as a Yankee. A 6x WS Champion and 10x All-Star, The Chairman of the Board was one of the best lefties to ever toe the rubber. He will be deeply missed, " said the Yankees organization on Twitter.
