WWE signs highly decorated broadcaster Joe Testitore

WWE’s broadcasting team just added a major boost with the signing of current boxing and college football broadcaster Joe Tessitore. Tessitore's role with WWE will begin this summer. "It's an honor to be a part of WWE," Tessitore said in a statement provided by the WWE. "The recent success and trajectory are undeniable. Being there at WrestleMania XL, one could feel it from Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and The Rock, to creative and production, these are some of the very best storytellers in TV.” It’s an interesting acquisition for WWE as it's not clear what show Tessitotre will call home since he has active duty in two different sports that usually fall on a Saturday.

However, it was announced that Tessitore will be joining Wade Barrett and Corey Graves, the current Smackdown team. "Corey and Wade are absolute stars and it is my privilege to join their team. Pat and Cole are just magical together and Cole is the greatest to ever sit in that chair.  As a lifelong viewer, I'm humbled to join this team and to serve our fans,” said Tessitore.

Tessitore has an extensive resume that stems from many different programs.  Tessitore was a one-time NFL "Monday Night Football" play-by-play man, Tessitore currently calls college football and Top Rank Boxing for ESPN while also serving as the lead voice for sports reality competition comedy series "Holey Moley" on ABC. Tessitore already has a great relationship with WWE brass. Tessitore, was the first media client of WWE president Nick Khan. Khan was a super-agent prior to leading the wrestling promotion. Tessitore also has a great relationship with Paul Levesque (a.k.a. “Triple H”), WWE’s head of creative.

"Whether it's a world title fight that's got the globe buzzing or a college football rivalry that's grabbed the nation's attention, Joe's voice provides that big event feels each time he is behind the microphone," said WWE chief content officer Paul Levesque, better known to fans as former wrestler Triple H.
