WWE announced first ever PLE in Paris France

Tarrian Rodgers

WWE announced huge news today as WWE will be bringing a premium live event to Paris for the first time ever this summer. The event is set for the Paris La Defense Arena on Sunday, August 31st. The venue is touted as the largest indoor arena in Europe with a listed capacity of 40,000. WWE will also follow that up by having Raw the following night in the same arena.

The event follows last year’s successful Backlash PLE from Lyon, France, in May that drew 11,682. WWE head Nick Khan said two weeks ago during a Las Vegas appearance that another PLE would be coming to France this year. Backlash France was a highly regarded show headlined by a WWE Championship match between Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles.

“Backlash France in Lyon last year broke arena records and decibel levels, demonstrating just how loud and passionate our WWE fans in France can be,” said WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque. “We believe Clash in Paris and Raw will attract people from around the world to Paris and once again create a true spectacle.”

WWE is in for another big profitable year With SummerSlam slated for two nights and set for MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, in early August, Clash in Paris will likely serve as a follow-up.  Additionally, Priority Pass ticket packages will soon be available from On Location, offering fans the chance to be ringside for every exhilarating moment including premium seating, pre-show hospitality with WWE Superstar appearances, ringside photo opportunities and more. Starting today, fans can place a deposit to secure access ahead of the general public.
