Walt Disney Company gets five Golden Globe Awards

Los Angeles- The 2021 Golden Globes was unique and very diverse with first time winners earning awards.

The Walt Disney Company had a very good night at the Golden Globe Awards, taking home five wins under their belts. Nomadland won in two categories, Best Motion Picture in a Drama and Best Director in a Motion Picture. Chloé Zhao broke history with becoming the first Asian women to win Best Director and had this to say about it.

"This award belongs to the whole 'Nomadland' team," Zhao said. "Thank you, everyone who made it possible for me to do what I love.'

The animated movie Soul went on to win two Globes for Best Original Score in a Motion Picture and Best Animation in a Motion Picture. Last but not least, Disney capped their night off winning the big prize with Andra Day winning Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion picture.
