USA will host Olympic qualifier in June
New York- The USA baseball team will set up the Olympic qualifier in June.
On Tuesday, the World Baseball Softball Confederation announced that they were going to have an Olympic qualifier in June. With the ongoing pandemic, life has been altered not just around the globe, but sports as well.
The MLB has not decided how many players would be eligible to play in the qualifier or how many players will attend the Olympics. It may be possible that players, who are not on the 40-man roster, could potentially play in the tournament.
The U.S. is the top-ranked team in the Americas qualifier and plays in Group A against the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Nicaragua. Group B features Cuba, Venezuela, Canada, and Colombia.
