Unlikely hero saves the day for the National League
If you were a fan of defense, then you were pretty excited how the MLB All- Star game went. There were a lot of laughs and a lot of competitive spirit as both the National League and American League played ball.
Let's take to the bottom of the eighth. Down by a score and needing some type of offensive spark, Elias Díaz was the Superman that the NL team needed. Diaz smashed a two-run homer, which ultimately won the game for the NL, 3-2. This win was huge for the National League, because it broke the curse of 11 consecutive losses.
After the victory, the hero of the game had this to say. “It feels incredible. When we all got here, we all talked about how we were going to bring home the win,” said Diaz.
