The Panthers win the Stanley Cup 2-1

The Oilers who somehow had the NHL God's with them forced a Game 7 series after being down 0-3 in the series. Whoever won the game, history would be made in celebrator style. Before the game started, the favorite to win the Stanley Cup was the Oilers. A lot of people felt the Panthers lost confidence and had the curse of the Falcons upon them.

The stage was set for one of the uncanny Game 7 Stanley Cup Finals and the lights were on the Panthers. Floridia got onto the scoreboard in the first five minutes in the period, as Carter Verhaeghe scored. I guess the Oilers was like hold my beer. Two minutes later, Mattias Janmark tied the game up with a goal of his own. After the excitement of the back-to-back goals, both teams settled down defensively. The Oilers escaped the first period with three consecutive stops at the net to exhale and skate back to the locker room tied up.

I guess the Panters' coach gave the Panthers and inspired message, but Florida came out in the second period with a bit more flare. Like the end of the first period, Florida opened up their offense and played with a confident pace. Sam Reinhardt called his own number with a nifty goal to help the Panthers retake the lead. For the most part Conner McDavid was naturized and did not have much of an impact in two periods.

The third period was a grind for the Panthers. At one point, they did not even have a shot attempt in an eight-minute drought. Their defense did all they could do to stop the Oilers from getting the puck in the goal. With under two minutes left in regulation, the Oilers came very close from scoring a goal to tie up the game, but it was knocked away at the last second. As time ticked off the clock,, the Panthers knew that they escaped history and made their own history with the victory.
