The Magic suffer their first loss of the season to the 76ers, 116-92
Orlando- The Magic had trouble stopping Joel Embiid and Seth Curry, as they were defeated by the 76ers.
Defensively, Orlando had trouble stopping the inside presence of the 7ers. They were not closing out on shooters, had a hard time stopping Embiid, and was getting outrebounded by Philadelphia. Curry and Embiid combined for 41 points.
Terrence Ross, who is the Magic's young all-star did not play because of a hamstring injury. Without Ross on the floor, Orlando struggled to find any type of rhythm. Collectively, Orlando had a horrible game ,shooting around 34% from the field and went 7 of 28 from behind the arc (25%). Michael Carter-Williams, who is growing into his own, had a tough time with getting the ball in the hoop. He shot 3 of 11 from the field and had 10 points in 27 minutes.
Turnovers and just bad shooting halted the Magic from making the game competitive. Despite the loss to the 76ers, the Magic are optimistic about their season and have repeatedly stated that they can not turn the ball over. In order for them to chase down a playoff-run, they can not be sloppy with the ball.
The Magic will be facing the Thunder on Saturday, they are hopeful that Ross will play in the game.
