The Las Vegas Aces defeat the Seattle Storm 85-72 thanks to Wilson's 21 points and seven rebounds
As the Las Vegas Aces defeated the Seattle Storm 85-72 on Tuesday, A'ja Wilson scored 21 points and set a WNBA record for most rebounds in a season. With her seven rebounds, she passed Chicago rookie Angel Reese for the most in a season with 451. Earlier this month, Reese suffered a wrist injury that ended her season. Wilson also extended her league record for points in a season, and now has 1,021.
Over the last few games, Las Vegas' big four has been playing well. Kelsey Plum had 21 points, Jackie Young had 16 points and 6 assists and Chelsea Gray scored 13 with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. If the Aces want to three peat, they will have to maintain this level of play. The Seattle Storm was led by Nneka Ogwumike's 19 points, Skylar Diggins-Smith's 17 points, and Gabby Williams' 14 points. Jewel Loyd and Ezi Magbegor were injured, so Seattle played without their key players.
Seattle was locked into the fifth playoff spot, where they will possibly play Las Vegas in the first round. As the two-time defending champion Aces prepare for their final game at home against Dallas on Thursday, they are in fourth place.
Las Vegas is one game behind Connecticut which has a home game Thursday against Chicago
