The Comeback kid Tom Brady avoids the scare against the Chargers and gets the 38-31 win

Tampa Bay- Tom Brady throws five touchdowns to pull out the victory over the Chargers.




After tying the game up with the Los Angeles Chargers early in the first quarter, Tom Brady threw a pick six to Michael Davis, who put the Charges up 14-7 over Tampa Bay. The Bucs' offensive line struggled to protect Tom Brady throughout the first half. Brady was hit a lot and did not really have time to step up in the pocket. Tampa Bay's offense could not really get in sync through the air, but on the ground the Bucs were productive. Ronald Jones II had 67 yards on nine caries, which was a bright spot for Tampa. At the end of the half, Brady threw his second touchdown pass to Mike Evans to climb back into the game. The Chargers had a 24-14 lead at the half.


On the defensive end, the Bucs gave up 24 points in the first half and was not getting a pass run on the young rookie Justin Herbert. Herbert had 148 yards through the air and no interceptions.


In the second half, the comeback kid Brady threw a touchdown pass to O.J. Howard to cut the Chargers lead to three, 21-24. Brady started to get into his stride and hit Cameron Brate for his fourth touchdown with .50 seconds left in the third quarter. However Herbert threw a 72-yard touchdown bomb to Jalen Guyton to take back the lead going into the fourth quarter, 31-28.


Brady answers right back, as he hit Ke'Shawn Vaughn for a five-yard touchdown, for his fifth touchdown of the day. The Bucs had a 35-31 lead early in the fourth. The Bucs tacked on a field goal to put the nail in the coffin for the game, 38-31.


Brady finished with 369 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 1 interception.

Jones finished with 111 yards on the ground.

Mike Evans had 7 receptions for 122 yards.
