Since the global pandemic happened, event coordinators have adapted to the new norm and decided to have streaming events online. This year, the festival will be split in half. Some events will be virtual, while others will be live attendance.
According to the festival director Alberto Barbera, the coronavirus pandemic seemed to have brought about more creativity. The quality of the films was generally higher on average this year, Barbera said."
The Festival will start September 1-11 (in person), while the virtual aspect of it will start September 1-19. This year, the festival has expanded its virtual reality to 21 countries. More information about the film festival will be updated as soon as possible.
