Team USA Stunned against the WNBA All Stars

Las Vegas- The WNBA All Stars defeated Team USA 93-85 in front of a crowd of 5,175 fans.

The All Stars were led by guard Arike Ogunbowale with 26 points. She had a great day from the field shooting 10 of 18 in total and 5 of 10 from three. Ogunbowale was on fire when it came to her shooting. She was followed by forward Jonquel Jones. Having an all around game, Jones scored 18 points and snatched 14 rebounds. She played a great game on both ends of the court. It seemed like these All Stars were out to prove themselves tonight against a very strong Team USA.

For the Olympic squad, center Brittney Griner led the team in scoring going 8 of 10 and racking up 17 points. As a team, they seemed to play well together, being as they aren’t normally teammates. Sue Bird came out and seemed to play a very floor general type of game. Not worrying about her shot rather setting up her teammates. Bird finished with a team high eight assists for the game with only four points.

During the press conferences, many players on the All Star team stated that they needed to play real basketball to get these USA players ready for the Olympics. Most times, All Star games are more of a high scoring entertainment type of deal. Not tonight, these girls came out and gave team USA a run for their money. This was a great warmup for team USA and maybe even a wake up call. The Olympics are right around the corner after all.
