Suns were defeated by the Nuggets 110-98

Phoenix- The Suns lose home opener to Nuggets.

Coming off a heartbreaking NBA Finals loss, the Suns wanted to come out in their season opener and pull out a win against Nikola Jovic and the Denver Nuggets. Phoenix started out the game very slow and was in a hole early on. The Suns got out their heads and started playing Suns' basketball. Deandre Ayton was aggressive with scoring in the paint and used himself as a decoy to open up his teammates for wide open shots. Ayton finished up the half with 13 points and helped his team skip to the locker room with a 58-48 lead.

Phoenix went on zombie mode at the start of the second half. Denver went on a 14-6 run and had the Suns' scratching their heads trying to figure out how to stop them. Chris Paul was ineffective with scoring the ball and attempted to get other teammates involved. Denver went up 12, but Phoenix clawed themselves back in the game and cut the Nuggets' lead to three at the end of the third.

The Suns couldn't stop Denver and struggling to find their rhythm in the fourth and went on to lose.
