Sun looked out of sync as the Strom defeats the twin towers 71-64
With only a handful of games left in the regular season, the Sun wanted to stay in that race for the second seed, heading into the playoffs. On Tuesday, they faced the Seattle Storm in which Connecticut knew that this game was going to be a dog fight.
DeWanna Bonner had a pretty nice half. Despite her not doing much offensively, she impacted the game on the defensive side of the floor. Bonner had a couple of steals, four blocks, and was very active on the glass. Outside of Bonner, Brionna Jones was taking people to school and making Seattle adjust to her. Jones finished the half with 12 points.
Heading into the second half, the Sun wanted Alyssa Thomas to get more involved. Thomas was non-effective in the first half, scoring only one point with two fouls. For the most part of the third quarter, both teams played a bit sloppy. There were a lot of forced shots, fouls, steals, and just inconsistent play.
Things got a little interesting in the fourth. Connecticut went on a 10-4 run and cut the Storms' lead to a one-possession game with three minutes left in regulation. Seattle went on a 10-6 run to close out the game.
