South Carolina won its 65th consecutive home game

Sunday, No. 2 South Carolina won its 65th consecutive home game with a 93-47 victory over Wofford behind 16 points from super freshman Joyce Edwards. Edwards, a 6-foot-3 forward, has led the team in scoring the past three games.

In addition, Tessa Johnson added 14 points and Raven Johnson 13 points for the Gamecocks, who have not lost at home since December 2020.   A six-day break for players to head home for Christmas has kept the defending national champs idle since Dec. 19.   McDaniel, a freshman, was out with a concussion, while Walker, a senior forward, was crutched during pregame warmups.  Down to a roster of 11, South Carolina still had no problem with the Terriers.

Despite hitting only five shots, Rachael Rose scored 20 points for Wofford.   Overall, she was 5-of-18 from the 3-point line and 3-for-8 from the free throw line.

Despite not having great shooting nights, Chloe Kitts, Ashlyn Watkins, and Sania Feagin together had a combined 22 rebounds over the course of the game.

The Gamecocks displayed their dominance early, jumping to a commanding lead by halftime. Joyce Edwards showcased her versatility with impressive drives to the basket and mid-range shots, while Tessa Johnson's sharpshooting from beyond the arc kept Wofford's defense on its toes. Despite Rachael Rose's game-high 20 points, South Carolina's relentless defense and rebounding prowess sealed their victory.
