South Carolina will host the SEC Women's Basketball tournament for the next three years

Earlier this week, the Southeastern Conference (SEC) announced that Greenville will host the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament for another three years. Under this extension, Greenville will host the tournament in 2026, 2027 and 2028 at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

Greg Sankey, SEC Commissioner, said, "The City of Greenville and Bon Secours Wellness Arena have proven to be successful hosts of the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament, and we are proud to be able to call Greenville home for the next three years. The city’s hospitality and organization combined with the quality of the arena make Greenville an ideal location to provide a memorable experience for SEC women’s basketball student-athletes, coaches and fans.”

The 15,000-seat Bon Secours Wellness Arena serves as the tournament’s host site in Greenville. The atmosphere of the place is like no other, and you don't want to leave. The first time I experienced this, it was an eye-opening experience

Coach Dawn Staley has led South Carolina to three tournament titles in four seasons. An undefeated season could have been spoiled in March if the Gamecocks hadn't narrowly escaped what would have happened. Kamilla Cardoso's uncontested three-pointer at the buzzer lifted the Gamecocks to a 74-73 win over Tennessee in the tournament semi-finals. A mostly Garnet-friendly crowd in Greenville witnessed Carolina defeat LSU 79-72 in the championship game.  That win marked the program's eighth SEC tournament title in 10 seasons.
