After not having a first-round WNBA draft pick for the first time in three years, South Carolina women's basketball coach Dawn Staley watched three of her players get selected within minutes of each other in the second round of the 2025 WNBA Draft on April 14.
Among them, Te-Hina Paopao was selected by the Atlanta Dream at No. 18 overall; Bree Hall was selected at No. 20 by the Indiana Fever; and Sania Feagin was selected by the Los Angeles Sparks at No. 21.
Te-Hina Paopao is expected to bring exceptional three-point shooting and leadership qualities to the Atlanta Dream, strengthening their backcourt. The Indiana Fever will have a reliable option on both ends of the court in Bree Hall because of her defensive skills and versatility. Meanwhile, Sania Feagin's athleticism and scoring ability make her a promising addition to the Los Angeles Sparks' frontcourt rotation.
This impressive representation in the draft highlights the strength of South Carolina's basketball program and solidifies its reputation as a powerhouse in developing top-tier talent. Coach Staley's ability to prepare her players for professional success will likely enhance the team's recruiting efforts, attracting more elite prospects in the coming years. As a result, South Carolina is poised to remain competitive and continue its legacy of excellence in collegiate women's basketball.
