South Carolina edge rusher Kyle Kennard headlines the 2024 first-team All-America squad for FBS coaches.

During the 2024 season, Kennard, a 6-5, 254-pound senior from Atlanta, Ga., had 15.5 tackles for loss, including 11.5 sacks.   His sack total ranked sixth in the nation, and both marks led the Southeastern Conference.   His single season sack total ranks second in school history behind Jadeveon Clowney's 13.0 in 2012.   The school's fourth-highest single-season total of tackles for loss is his.   He also forced three fumbles and hurried the quarterback 10 times.

As part of his recognition as the Nagurski Trophy winner on Monday in Charlotte, Kennard has also been named to the Walter Camp first team, as well as the Reese's Senior Bowl first team.   He was recognized as the SEC Defensive Player of the Year by both the Associated Press and the SEC Coaches' Association, as well as a first-team All-SEC selection by the AP, the Coaches, and USA TODAY.   As a finalist for the Blanchard-Rogers Trophy, also known as the "South Carolina Heisman," he has accepted an invitation to play in the Reese's Senior Bowl in 2025.

Kennard's impressive college career suggests he has the potential to make a significant impact in the NFL. His ability to consistently disrupt offenses with his sack prowess and knack for forcing turnovers makes him an attractive prospect for teams looking to bolster their defensive line. If he continues to develop his skills and adapt to the professional level, he could become a key playmaker and a valuable asset to any NFL defense.
