South Carolina continues their winning streak

In Charlotte's Spectrum Center on Sunday, No. 1 South Carolina defeated ninth-ranked North Carolina State 71-57 with 23 points from Te-Hina Paopao and 18 points from MiLaysia Fulwiley.   Combined, Paopao and Fulwiley shot 18 of 30 from the field as the Gamecocks shot 50%.  South Carolina held a 40-25 glass edge.

The NC State women's basketball team was led by Zamareya Jones with 16 points and Aziaha James with 13 points

This victory reinforces South Carolina's dominance in women's college basketball and solidifies their position as a top contender for the national championship. It also boosts the team's confidence and morale, setting a strong tone for the rest of the season. Additionally, the standout performances from Paopao and Fulwiley highlight the depth and talent within the team, promising a promising outlook for future games.

Chloe Kitts of South Carolina did not play as a result of an "academic policy issue." She is expected back in the lineup for South Carolina's next game, according to coach Dawn Staley.   When Ashlyn Watkins checked into the game in the first quarter, she received a loud ovation.   This was her first game since the school cleared her to play after dismissing charges of assault and kidnapping against her.
