South Carolina 2025 schedule preview

The University of South Carolina’s 2025 football schedule was revealed yesterday by the Southeastern Conference.

Which is like the 2024 slate.  As the league expanded to 16 teams with Texas and Oklahoma, the conference announced that every football team would play the same SEC opponents in 2024 and 2025, but with flipped locations.

So, all the conference foes South Carolina traveled to compete in 2024 will have to come to Williams-Brice Stadium next season. And vice versa. With a neutral-site game against Virginia Tech, South Carolina kicks off coach Shane Beamer's fifth season.  The Gamecocks play home games against Alabama, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Vanderbilt. They travel to play games against LSU, Ole Miss, Missouri and Texas A&M in SEC play.

The three revenge games for the Gamecocks are arguably the most anticipated games of next season.  It is possible that South Carolina (9-3, 5-3) would have earned a spot in the College Football Playoff if they had not lost to LSU, Ole Miss, and/or Alabama. This would have set up at least three marquee matchups for South Carolina in 2025

Gamecocks will face formidable opponents like Alabama and Oklahoma at home.   The rosters of these teams are known for their depth and strong performances.  Furthermore, traveling to play powerful teams such as LSU, Texas A&M and Ole Miss presents unique challenges, such as hostile environments and maintaining a consistent performance.  LaNorris Sellers and South Carolina must maintain competitive edge despite these tough matchups in 2025.
