Softball coach added to Clemson's staff
Ryan Wieligman has been named to Clemson Softball's coaching staff for the 2024-25 season by head coach John Rittman. With Wieligman joining the staff as Director of Player Development, Clemson's technology integration will be overseen by him.
Wieligman joins the staff after previously serving as an assistant coach/recruiting coordinator at Creighton University. He worked primarily with hitters and recruited with additional duties in data analysis, film and scouting. He was a member of the 2024 Big East Coaching Staff of the Year. As a result of his coaching, Creighton had five First Team and two Second Team All-Big East honors in 2024, including the conference pitcher and defensive player of the year.
Wieligman's extensive experience with data analysis and scouting will likely bring a new level of strategic depth to Clemson's game preparation. His proven track record in developing top-tier players suggests he will be instrumental in enhancing the performance of Clemson's hitters. With his background, Clemson can expect a boost in both individual player development and overall team success.
"Thank you to Coach Rittman for the great opportunity to be a part of the Clemson Softball program," said Wieligman. "This university holds a strong athletic and academic reputation that I am excited to join and help continue to grow."
