SMU Men’s Basketball Non-Conference Schedule Announced

SMU has announced their non-conference home games for the upcoming season that will include games against Dayton and Texas A&M. The road matchups will feature games against Arizona State and Florida State in addition to the Rocket Mortgage Fort Myers Tip-Off against West Virginia, Wisconsin and Virginia.

Head Coach, Rob Lanier opens his second season with SMU facing Texas A&M at home on November 14th before the team heads to the holiday tournament in November Thanksgiving Week. Following the Thanksgiving Feast Week, Mustangs will face three consecutive opponents against Dayton (November 29th @ home), Arizona State (December 6th @ Tempe, AZ) and Florida State (December 16th @ Tallahassee, FL).

The final non-conference games conclude December 19th against Houston Christian in Dallas followed by a December 22nd road-game against Murray State University. SMU has a full slate of American Athletic Conference games set to tip-off in January 2024. SMU will play five AAC opponents twice (home & road games) and will only host home games against Charlotte, Temple, Tulsa, and UTSA. The Mustangs will only face Florida Atlantic, Rice, South Florida and Wichita State one time during the season and those games will only be on the road. The American Men’s Basketball Championship will be held at Dickie’s Arena in Ft. Worth on March 13-17.
