Sha'carri Richardson makes a statement in 100M at USA Track and Field Championships
Everyone makes mistakes and that includes sports figures in different professions. After Richardson's incident of having marijuana in her system, prior to the 2020 Olympics, she was banned form competition. After getting smoked a couple months in the Prefontaine Classic Track meet, Richardson had enough and started evaluating herself.
Two years later, Richardson continues to inspire and have put together a very good season this year. On Friday, Richardson let the world know that she was here to stay with a message. Prior to the race, Richardson tossed her famous pink wig, as a notion of the past. What happened next was remarkable. As the gun was fired and the meet start, Richardson did not have a good start off of the blocks, Within 50 meters left in the race, she turned on the jets and "hawked" her competition to win with a time of 10.82.
After the victory, she had this to say. "Now, I stand here with you again and I'm ready, mentally, physically and emotionally," Richardson said after her victory. "I'm here to say. 'I'm not back, I'm better.'"
