Serena Williams will not play in Miami Open, due to oral surgery

Miami, FL- Tennis superstar Serena Williams has decided to opt out of the Miami Open tournament, due to oral surgery.

On Sunday, Williams announced that she was not playing in the upcoming Miami Open tournament and said this in a released statement. "Miami is a special tournament for me because it's my home," she said in a statement. "I am sad I won't be able to see the incredible fans this year, but I look forward to coming back soon."

Williams have won the Miami Open tournament eight times, which is a record for the tournament. The Miami Open will start the tournament March 24.
