Seattle, WA- Kraken has decided to cut free agent goal tender Philipp Grubauer a six year deal worth $5.9 million.

Last season, Grubauer had a very decent year with the Colorado Avalanche. He had a record of 30-9-1 along with a 1.95 goals-against average (GAA), a .922 save percentage and seven shutouts in 40 games. The Kraken organization felt like he would be a great for what they want to bring to the Seattle market and signed him.

“We’re excited to add a goaltender of Philipp’s caliber, especially coming off of a season where he was a finalist for the Vezina Trophy,” said Seattle Kraken General Manager Ron Francis. “He was a part of a Stanley Cup-winning team and has been one of the top goaltenders in the League over the past few seasons and we’re happy that he chose to join our team.”
