Seahawks release Danny Etling and signed Veteran QB Sean Mannion

Seattle- On Sunday, the Seahawks decided to let Danny Etling go and signed Sean Mannion to a deal.

The Seahawks had to make a tough decision and decided to part ways with Etling to make room for the 90-man roster. After letting go Etling, Seattle wanted get a veteran quarterback that could be a good back-up just in case something happened to Russell Wilson in the season.

Mannion, who was a third round pick for the St. Louis Rams in 2015 got the call that the Seahawks wanted him. Even though Mannion has not had much experience with starting or being on the field for long periods of time, the Seahawks felt like he was a right fit for the role. Mannion played for the Rams and the Vikings.
