Satou Sabally Comes Up Big For the Wings, As They Won in Thrilling Fashion Against The Fever, 76-73
Orlando. The Dallas Wings gets a defensive stop with seconds left in regulation to beat the Indiana Fever 76-73.
With a few seconds left in regulation and the game on the line, the Indiana Fever attempted to tie the game after the wings scored a go-ahead lay-up. The Wings were up by three and the Fever needed a three to tie the game up. The Fever pushed the ball up the court, passed the ball to a shooter on the wing and the shooter shot an airball as time expired.
The Wings had to climb out of 14 point deficit in the first half and their stars overcame the slow start that eventually got the Wings the victory. Rookie sensation Satou Sabally was a monster in this game, racking up 23 points, 1 assist, and 17 rebounds. Sabally held down the fort on much needed defensive stops down the stretch in the fourth quarter. Contributions by Arike Ogunbowale and Kayla Thornton were much needed. Both players combined for 26 points and 11 rebounds.
The Wings are now 3-1 and have shown the ability to go get loose rebounds and crash the boards in dominating fashion. The Wings are fairly young, but Sabally in her very young career has been getting it done on both sides of the floor. She is starting to gain confidence with shooting more mid-range shots and attacking the basket. Her size and mobility can create so many problems for defenders in the paint. She is tall, can box almost anyone in the paint .and can score over anyone. She will only get better with time.
