Ravens run past the Giants 35-14
The Baltimore Ravens displayed a solid performance from the offense and defense against another NFC East opponent that prior to their bye week didn’t go their way versus Philadelphia. This week, the Ravens traveled to MetLife Stadium to face the New York Giants with both sides of the ball ready to close the gap in the AFC North division. The talk of the game will be focused on Baltimore's Lamar Jackson tying a career high in passing for five touchdowns which also contributed to a quarterback rating of 154.6 and the Ravens scoring 35 points. The offense willl be rightfully praised; however, Baltimore’s defense held the Giants to 14 points with only 1 touchdown being allowed in the first half, and 1 touchdown late in the game.
The Giants were held to 14% on conversions for third downs (2 for 12) with only 55 rushing yards. The Ravens safety, Ar’Darius Washington added an interception with a return for 32 yards. The ground game proved to be the difference for Baltimore accumulating 170 yards on 31 carries resulting in controlling the clock the majority of the game. Rashod Bateman caught 3 receptions for 80 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Ravens while Justice Hill, Mark Andrews, and Devontez Walker added the other 3 touchdowns of the 5 that Lamar Jackson passed for. Baltimore wins their 9th game of the season over the New York Giants 35 to 14 and will host the AFC North first place Pittsburgh Steelers next Saturday afternoon. The Giants drop to 2-12 on the season and are looking for answers on both sides of the ball while traveling to Atlanta next Sunday to play the Falcons.
