Ravens' lose by a toe on the line at the end of the game

After being defeated in the AFC Championship last season, the Baltimore Ravens wanted to get their revenge with the opener against the Chiefs. Lamar Jackson has an artillery in the back field with Derrick Henry and if healthy, this team could be the potential favorites to win it. However, let's focus on the task at hand, which was the start of the NFL season. Baltimore had to overcome four penalties on their first drive as they broke the game open with the first touchdown of the season, with a King Henry 2-yard power run.

Despite the fast start for the Ravens, they had a couple of mistakes, heading into the second quarter. Jackson fumbled the ball, which lead to a Kanas City field goal and the penalties kept raking up. With 10 minutes left in the quarter, Baltimore was trying to send the Chiefs a message by going for it on fourth and three and did not convert the down. You have to give props to Baltimore's defense, because they held the Chiefs to six points. Justin Tucker kicked a field goal to close out the half to cut the Chiefs' lead 13-10.

Coming out of the locker room, Baltimore's focus was not shooting themselves in the leg with formation penalties as well as making sure that they do not turn the ball over. For the most part, the Ravens did a great job with their adjustments on the offensive side of the ball. However, their defense was getting torched by the Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes threw two touchdowns to extend their lead 27-17 midway in the fourth. Gasping for a score, Baltimore marched down the field and tacked on a field-goal to make it a one-possession game.

Once again, Baltimore needed a stop to keep their lifeline alive. they took their last timeout and was hoping their defense could get it done. Their defense answered the bell, and it came down to Jackson and crew for a potential game-tying drive. Jackson through a bomb to his wide receiver, which took them to the 10-yard line. With 10 seconds left in regulation and a third goal, Jackson threw a touchdown pass, but it was overturned because the receiver's toe was on the line. Kanas City went on to win 27-20.
