Rangers' offense stalls in Game 2
After outlasting Arizona and having Adolis Garcia send the Rangers with a go to home run in the 11th inning, Texas was feeling pretty good heading into Game 2. The key factor that they wanted to build on was making sure that they made the Diamondbacks pay when they would make a mistake.
This game was a bit of a grinder. Arizona scored two runs in the fourth to open up the lead and put a bit of pressure on the Rangers. Before the fifth inning, Texas was swinging at air and couldn't but a string of offense together to put themselves into position to score. Mitch Garver got the Rangers on the board with an out of the park homer to inch closer to a potential thriller.
Welp, the pitching for the Rangers were not on cue tonight. Jordan Montgomery was taking out of the game in the seventh and in comes the fiery Andrew Heaney. Heaney allowed a base hit that sprung another run for the Diamondbacks. With everything going wrong, the Rangers were looking for some type of spark to potential give them some type of momentum. It was not going to happen to as the Astros brought in a couple of runs to walk away with a W, 9-1.
