Rams get a much-needed win to stay atop in their division
The Los Angeles Rams understood the assignment for an away game in New York. Head coach Sean McVay arrived at MetLife Stadium in a three-piece suit and looked all business. His team followed suit and established the run early and often with a total of 132 yards on 31 attempts. Second year standout, Kyren Williams, continues to improve and seems to get stronger as the game progresses.
Today was another example of his efficiency with accumulating himself 122 yards of the 132 yards that the Rams had as a team. Williams added a 2-yard touchdown run that was set up by a turnover on downs that the Rams defense forced on the Jets 33-yard line. Defensively, the Rams are able to find gaps to blitz from and the New York offensive line had trouble keeping the front seven in check.
Rookie Jared Verse recovered a timely fumble while holding the Jets to 5 of 13 on 3rd down attempts. The Rams Matthew Stafford passed for 110 yards on 14 of 19 completions with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. The Rams will host the Cardinals on Saturday, December 28th and the Seahawks for the final regular season game, and can clinch the NFC West division title if Seattle has a hiccup with the Minnesota Vikings this week, and/or they lose to Chicago next Thursday, December 26th.
