Phoenix Suns media day recap

The Suns' annual Media Day revealed a strong sense of optimism and strategic planning from both ownership and players as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Owner Mat Ishbia expressed confidence in the team and highlighted the commitment of the front office to support the players. He also discussed a new television deal with Arizona's Family, stressing that the Suns would approach things differently to best serve fans and the organization.

General Manager James Jones emphasized the importance of continuity and health for the roster, noting that summer changes have helped maintain the team's momentum.

Head Coach Mike Budenholzer commented on the potential of a starting lineup feat

during three guards, expressing confidence in their ability to mix and match players effectively.

Kevin Durant reflected on the value of his experience at the Paris Olympics, explaining how it helped him understand the mindset needed for success.

Devin Booker, entering his 10th season, spoke about managing his health by learning from teammates and adapting various strategies to stay fit.

Bradley Beal praised the addition of Tyus Jones as a true starting point guard, which he believes will allow him, Booker, Durant, and Grayson Allen to return to their traditional roles and excel.

Overall, the Suns are focused on building a winning culture while leveraging their roster's strengths as they head into the 2024-25 season.

In addition to their optimistic outlook for the season, the Suns will honor the late Al McCoy by wearing a jersey band in his memory. McCoy, who passed away on September 21 at the age of 91, was the longest-tenured team broadcaster in NBA history, serving as the "Voice of the Suns" for an impressive 51 years. This tribute reflects the organization's respect and appreciation for McCoy's significant contributions to the team and its history.
