Patriots end their losing streak, as they defeat the Jets 30-27

New England- The Patriots escape with a victory over the Jets at the end of regulation, 30-27.



The Patriots' nightmare continued against the New York Jets in the first half, as they struggled to get any productive drives going after they scored in the first quarter. Cam Newton was throwing mostly five and out routes, because his wide receivers was not getting separation down the field. Midway in the second quarter, the Patriots had a promising drive going, but fumbled the ball at a 50-yard line. The Jets took advantage of the turnover and scored a touchdown. At the end of the half, the Patriots trailed the Jets 20-10.


In the second half, the Patriots climbed back into the game with a touchdown run by Rex Burkhead to cut the Jets' lead to three, 20-17. Momentum was shifting in the Patriots' favor, but the Jets shut that down late in the third quarter, as Joe Flacco threw a touchdown to a wide open Breshad Perriman to make it a 27-17 lead. New England tacked on a field goal at the start of the fourth quarter, 27-20.


With under two minutes left in regulation, Newton scored his second running touchdown of the night to tie up the game 27-27.


New England's defense took care of the Jets and got them off the field with 50. seconds left in regulation. Newton drove his team down the field to put the Patriots in field goal position. Nick Folk kicked a 51-yard field goal to win it for the Patriots.
