Navy Midshipmen Dominate the Bucknell Bison 49-21

The Navy Midshipmen opened up their season against the Bucknell Bisons. This is their 15th

meeting between the two teams. Early in the first half the Bisons took advantage on two big

runs by running back Paul Neel. Quarterback Ralph Ruckers IV takes advantage of the

miscommunications of the midshipmen secondary, by connecting with wide receiver Nate

Anderson for a 47-yard touchdown.

The Midshipmen on that drive gave up 65 yards, after that the Midshipmen defense would give up 65 yards on the 6 drives the Bison would have. Fullback Daba Fofana would go for a 49 yard rushing touchdown, his second longest in his career since 2022 vs. Notre Dame. The Midshipmen wouldn’t stop there, they would drive down field, eating up the rest of the clock being in the Bisons redzone to start the second quarter.

Midshipmen Quarterback Blake Horvath would connect with Snipe Z Eli Heidenreich in the corner of the endzone for a 9-yard pass and catch. Then before the end of the half Horvath finds Snipe A Brandon Chatman on a screen for 42 yards and a touchdown to put the midshipmen up and a successful two-point conversion 28-7 into the half.

The second half the Midshipmen get the ball and work their way upfield. Alex Tecza would get a catch and run for 9, but Bison Cornerback Aaron Davis would get injured and carted off the field with an apparent head injury. He would give everyone a thumbs up that he’s okay. Later on, that drive Quarterback Blake Horvath would go down with a leg injury and Braxton Woodson would come in and throw a touchdown pass to Eli Heidenreich his second on the day, putting the Midshipmen up 35-7. With 3 minutes left in the 3rd the Bison’s would create a 9 play 40-yard drive and a Paul Neel 3-yard touchdown, after a Braxton Woodson interception with the score being 35-14.

Braxton Woodson in the fourth quarter would once again get the Midshipmen to drive down field and he would call his own number for a rushing score, and the Midshipmen would be up 42-14. Midshipmen LB Elijah Oatsvall would scoop up a fumble and the Midshipmen offense would come back out on offense with backup fullback Shane Reynolds to put them up 49-14.
