Naomi Osaka defeats Serena Williams and will advance to the Finals

New York- Naomi Osaka defeated Serena Williams 6-3, 6-4.

In a battle against the rising tennis star Naomi Osaka for a spot in the finals, Serena Williams had to be close to perfect to claim a victory. Williams got her forehand swing going early on, which caught Osaka off guard. Williams was up 2-0 in the set,but a couple unforced errors got Osaka back into the game. After dropping three consecutive games, Williams looked frustrated with trying to figure out Osaka's top spin shots. Williams lost the first set 6-3.

Williams had to dig herself out of a 2-0 hole in the second set. In the third game, Williams finally got herself on the board with a couple of forehand shots that Osaka could not get to. Williams made the game interesting after she tied it up at four apiece. However Osaka won the next two sets and defeated Williams 6-4.
