MiLaysia Fulwiley: The player on the rise

With Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark bringing a lot of attention to WCBB over the last 2 years, it is safe to say the WCBB craze isn't over yet. With Paige Bueckers, JuJu Watkins, Hannah Hidalgo, Flau'jae Johnson and Aneesah Morrow and many more i did not name the game is in a great place.

But I wanna talk about a sophomore guard at South Carolina named MiLaysia Fulwiley. I'll put on a game for you if you haven't heard of her. In his first season with the team, Fulwiley was one of the most electrifying players in the nation. When you get NBA Hall of Famer Magic Johnson’s attention you must be doing something right. It is her athleticism, ballhandling, and shot making that transform even routing plays into something that is breath-taking to watch. She was only a freshman last season and had some of her finest moments on the big stages.

She became the first freshman to win the Most Valuable Player Award at the SEC Tournament since Tennessee's Candace Parker won it in 2006. She helped her team win the SEC tournament. After scoring a season-high 24 points in a 79–72 win over Angel Reese led LSU team in the finals. She was named to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) All-Freshman Team. Fullwiley became the first college athlete to sign a name, image and likeness deal with Curry Brand.

She is a winner. While in high school, she won four state championships, and in her first season with the Gamecocks, she just won her first NCAA championship. As Coach Staley has stated, she is a generational talent. Watch out, I don't even think she has scratched the surface of what she has in store for you.
