Miami Marlins hire first woman as general manager

Miami- The Marlins have just hired Kim NG as the first woman to be general manager for the organization.

Kim NG has broken the glass ceiling with being the first woman to be general manager for a MLB organization. NG is well qualified for the position with a combination of 30 years of being inside MLB organizations. She started her career as an intern for the Chicago White Sox in 1990, worked for the New York Yankees, and Los Angeles Dodgers over the course of her years. In 2011, she worked in the MLB Commissioners' office and recently left her seat in 2020. NG is excited about the opportunity and wants to bring a championship to Miami.

"I entered Major League Baseball as an intern and, after decades of determination, it is the honor of my career to lead the Miami Marlins as their next general manager,” Ng said in a statement. “We are building for the long term in South Florida, developing a forward-thinking, collaborative, creative baseball operation made up of incredibly talented and dedicated staff who have, over the last few years, laid out a great foundation for success."

"This challenge is one I didn’t take lightly. When I got into this business, it seemed unlikely a woman would lead a major league team, but I am dogged in the pursuit of my goals. “My goal is now to bring championship baseball to Miami. I am both humbled and eager to continue building the winning culture our fans expect and deserve.”
