Mavs win their first home-opener of the season

The Mavericks had their home opener against their Texas rivals in the Spurs and it was a bit messy in the first half. Luka Doncic did not play in preseason, and it showed. Luka was not magic in the half and only scored nine points, shooting 4 out of 14. Despite their floor general not really being pro-active offensively, Klay Thompson showed a little promised in the two quarters and finished the half with 8 points. Despite not having their floor general being the player that people were expecting to see the Mavs, Dallas finished the half up by two.

Dallas' offense started kicking in the second have. Irving and Thompson stretched out the floor and knocked down shots. At one point, they had a 12-point lead, but that was erased as the Spurs went on a 13-2 run late in the third quarter. Let's move it to the fourth quarter.

Luka, Thompson, and Irving put the nails in the coffin as they went on a scoring frenzy. It seemed like everything was going in the direction of Dallas. They eventually went on to win their first game of the season 120-109. Luka finished with 28points and 10 rebounds. Thompson finished with 22 points
