Mavericks lights up courts in Slovenia

Dallas- The Mavs brought a ray of sunshine and joy to the city of Slovenia, with a couple of courts in honor of Luka Doncic.

In honor of what Maverick's superstar Luka Doncic has done for the NBA on and off the court, the NBA decided that they were going to build two new courts in his hometown. “We love Luka, and we love Slovenia,” said Dallas Mavericks Governor Mark Cuban. “Luka is a generational talent. What he has done for his country will leave a lasting impact and we are proud to be a part of this celebration.”

This is the first project that has happened in Europe since the expansion of international rights to League teams. The NBA is very excited about this project and the impact it will have on international players in Slovenia. "We are excited to celebrate Luka’s three All-NBA First Team and All-Star awards with this court renovation project in Slovenia,” said Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall. “It’s an honor for us to continue working with Luka to give back to his home country in such a special way.”

“What an amazing and special gift from Dallas,” Dončić said. “Slovenia means so much to me and I am happy that kids in my country will now be able to play the game I love so much on these new courts. Thank you, Dallas Mavericks.”
