Maureen Smith joining Packers as Chief Financial Officer

The Green Bay Packers named Maureen Smith as Chief Financial Officer, Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy announced today. Smith has over 20 years of diverse experience across the sports, healthcare, consulting and finance industries, joining the Packers after seven years with Minnesota United FC of Major League Soccer.

Maureen Smith was promoted to Senior Vice President of Finance with the organization in 2016 followed by a 2018 promotion to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, one of just a few women at the time in MLS to be named to that level. The Packers are excited to have Maureen Smith join the organization for her impressive financial expertise, in a variety of industries, and they feel she will be an excellent asset to the Packers. Maureen Smith began her career as a CPA in public accounting and spent more than a decade as an independent small business consultant.

Her experience as the Director of Operations for UnitedHealth Group in 2011-2016 led her to oversee finances, accounting and operations and was responsible for the company’s Office of Social Responsibility and the United Health Foundation. Smith will oversee the club’s information technology department in addition to leading the Packers’ financial operations. She will begin her duties in September.
