Magic vs Nets preview
This upcoming Tuesday night will have a full slate of NBA games that include two surprisingly good teams that have so far exceeded expectations: the Magic and the Nets. The Brooklyn Nets are now in their first full season without Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. The duo had their sights set on bringing a ring to Brooklyn. There was a lot of uncertainty surrounding the Nets during COVID as Kyrie decided to sit out due to his beliefs about the vaccine and the freedom to not take the vaccine at all. In the middle of the Kyrie debacle, James Harden requested a trade as he looked to be fed up with the entire situation.
Eventually all three stars were traded away, and in return, the Nets put together a decent roster and received several picks in the upcoming drafts. On the other side, the Orlando Magic have been building their roster through the draft and have now finally started to see it all pay off. The Magic have beaten both Los Angeles teams, and they've also beaten the Bucks. Orlando mainly relies on a balanced offensive attack and its gritty defense. Brooklyn’s Cam Thomas has emerged as a lethal scorer and one of the brightest young talents in the league.
These two teams are well matched, and this game should be very interesting as it may show whose future is really the brightest. Both teams have five wins and are in the same conference, so each matchup against each other could be very pivotal for seeding down the line. The Nets somehow managed to get production from Ben Simmons, who everyone seemed to write off after what took place in Philadelphia, and his last few years have been riddled with injuries. Simmons has now found a role for himself on this Nets team, and he leads them in rebounds and assists. The game will be most likely won on the defensive end, as both teams are unbeaten when they don’t allow more than 110 points. We can be looking at two playoff teams or even play in teams in this game, and it should be very exciting!
