Luka Doncic hits game winner over Celtics 110-107
Dallas- Luka Doncic nailed a three pointer with under .10 seconds left in regulation to claim victory over Boston 110-107.
For the most part, the game was competitive between the Dallas Mavericks and the Boston Celtics. In the fourth quarter, that was when things got a little intense. With under four minutes left in the game, Dallas built up a nine point lead. It looked like Dallas was going to run away with a victory, but Jayson Tatum hit a couple buckets to chip away at the Mavericks' lead.
The Mavericks were on their heels and was trying to stop the Celtics from scoring with .40 seconds left in regulation to take the lead. Jaylen Brown hit a mid-range jump shot, which put the Celtics up by one 105-104. Doncic hit a three pointer with .17 seconds left to give the Mavericks a two-point lead.
Dallas played poor defense on the next possession, as Brown drove to the cup and got the lay-up to tie up the game. Dallas put the ball in their superstar hands and let him go to work. Doncic decided that he was going to go left and pull up for a contestant three point shot that went in and won the game for the Mavericks with 1.9 seconds.
Doncic finished the game with 31 points, 8 assists, and 10 rebounds.
“He’s just a very unique player, a very unique person,” coach Rick Carlisle said. “The wiring of people like Luka Doncic, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Larry Bird, Kobe Bryant, and guys that have this laser-like focus in these situations. It’s difficult to explain how their minds and their brains work.”
