LSU's young superstars make a statement in huge victory over North Carolina Central

No. 7 LSU posted a 131-44 victory over North Carolina Central on Sunday, as Flau'Jae Johnson scored 22 points, and Aneesah Morrow recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds in the victory. Including Johnson and Morrow, eight Tigers scored in double figures. Kailyn Gilbert had 19, Sa’Myah Smith 13, Last Tear-Poa 12 and Mikaylah Williams, Jersey Wolfenbarger and Jada Richard 10 each.

As Johnson scored the Tigers’ first nine points in their second quarter explosion, the Tigers continued extending their lead because the team got 20 points off the bench during the period with five subs scoring four points each for a total of 20 points off the bench in the second quarter.  The Tigers’ bench finished with 65 points, a season high.

LSU narrowly missed setting the school record for most points scored in a game, giving Kim Mulkey her 100th career victory as the head coach of the Tigers.

Morgan Callahan led N.C. Central with 13 points.

This milestone highlights Mulkey's exceptional coaching skills and her ability to lead and develop her team effectively. Reaching 100 victories at LSU solidifies her legacy as one of the top coaches in college basketball. Her leadership has been instrumental in building a successful program and maintaining a competitive edge in the sport.
