LSU's offense comes to life against UCLA
LSU's Garrett Nussmeie knew he had to be near perfect against UCLA and that ferocious defense. In the first half, Garrett had a couple of shots deep down the field which ended up being huge plays for the Tigers. On one play in the second quarter, Garrett threw a beautiful 45-touchdown pass to Kyle Parker to go up 14-10. He finished the half, 14 out of 20 for 164 yards and 2 touchdowns. While their offense was flying high their secondary was having problems stopping UCLA. Right before half, UCLA went down the field and went down the field and tied the game up as time expired at the end of the second quarter.
Coming out of the locker room, the Tigers wanted to continue to take shots down the field and take what the defense was giving them, but on the defensive side of the ball, they wanted to make sure that they did not give up big plays, like they did in the last sequence of the first half. The Tigers tacked on two touchdowns and took full control of the game, the rest of the way and capped off the 34-17 victory.
