LSU runs away with a win against Mississippi State

Brandon Harley

On Sunday, No. 7 LSU defeated Mississippi State 81-67 behind Mikaylah Williams' 22 points.   The Tigers also received 20 points from Flau'Jae Johnson, 18 points from Aneesah Morrow, and 12 points from Jersey Wolfenbarger.

Mikaylah Williams' impressive 22-point performance played a crucial role in LSU's victory.  Her ability to consistently score energized the team but also pressured Mississippi State's defense, opening opportunities for her teammates.

Morrow's 18 points and 20 rebounds contributed to the Tigers' dominance inside. Meanwhile, Johnson's 20 points showcased her versatility and ability to score from multiple positions on the court. Together, their performances complemented Williams' efforts and secured the win.

This trio of Williams, Morrow and Johnson shows no signs of slowing down and gets better each game.  Wolfenbarger's 12 points today was the icing on the cake, as they will need more role players to help them reach the ultimate goal come March.

Among the Bulldogs' top scorers were Eniya Russell with 13 points; Destiny McPhaul  and Quanirah  Montague had 10 points each.
