Mikaylah Williams scored 28 points and Aneesah Morrow added 26 points and 11 rebounds.  Flau’Jae Johnson added 13 points and leading LSU to a runaway 101-71 victory over Florida State in the second round of the women's NCAA Tournament on Monday night. Sa'Myah Smith had 20 points and 12 rebounds for LSU as well.

While LSU dominated the third quarter with an impressive 31-6 run, Florida State struggled to keep up, unable to find their rhythm offensively. The Tigers maintained their momentum in the fourth quarter, further extending their lead and showcasing their defensive prowess. Florida State's efforts fell short as they failed to close the gap, resulting in a decisive victory for LSU.

Despite scoring a game-high 30 points, Ta'Niya Latson had just seven after halftime.  Makayla Timpson scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the sixth-seeded Seminoles.

Johnson, who played just seven minutes in the first half after apparently reaggravating a right shin injury, returned to start the second half.   Johnson's return and electrifying plays in the second half provided a significant boost to the team's morale. Her ability to energize both her teammates and the crowd created a contagious enthusiasm that propelled LSU to maintain their dominating performance. This surge in confidence and spirit was instrumental in securing their commanding victory over Florida State.

LSU advances to the third round of the NCAA Tournament for a third straight season. This   streak began during its 2023 national title run.
