Los Angeles has another professional soccer league team

Los Angeles- Today, the National Women's Soccer League officially announced the name of their new expansion team.

Los Angeles' new expansion team will be called Angel City. Angel City have familiar house hold names that will be apart of the organization as co-owners. Natalie Portman, Kara Nortman, media and gaming entrepreneur Julie Uhrman,d venture capitalist, 776 founder & Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, and Serena Williams. Other inventors includes Candace Parker, Billie Jean King and Ilana Kloss and more.

Portman and King wanted to bring a fresher audience to Los Angeles with women being the face of the organization. So Portman and a list of women have made that dream come true and their debut will begin in the spring of 2022.

"We need everyone to invest in women’s sports and Ilana and I are proud to stand with the Angel City FC ownership group and help make new history in Southern California sports. Angel City's mission to make an impact on and off-the field, and to provide an opportunity to some of the best professional female athletes in the world to play on a stage as powerful as Los Angeles, sends a strong message to young girls in the community and beyond," said King.
