Liberty had a big game against the Aces

In the WNBA finals rematch between the Las Vegas Aces and the New York Liberty, Sabrina Ionescu led the Liberty with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Jonquel Jones had a day with 10 points and 17 big boards and Breanna Stewart contributed 18 points and 7 rebounds. As for the Aces, A'ja Wilson was a hard worker, finishing with 24 points and 11 rebounds, while Kelsey Plum scored 11 out of her 13 points in the first quarter of the game. A total of 13 points were scored by Chelsea Gray, in addition to six rebounds and six assists.

The Aces jumped out to a 28-24 lead in the first quarter, but only scored 8 points in the second quarter and the offense turned downhill from there. The Liberty took full advantage of the Aces' scoring drought by tightening their defense and pushing the tempo on offense. They embarked on a decisive run, outscoring the Aces significantly in the second quarter and building a comfortable lead. This shift in momentum allowed them to control the game and maintain their advantage for the rest of the match.

It was the Aces' first game since the league took a month-long break for the Paris Olympics. The month-long break for the Paris Olympics likely disrupted the Aces' rhythm, making it challenging to regain their form quickly. This hiatus could have contributed to their inconsistent performance, particularly in the second quarter where they struggled to score. The lack of game-time has also impacted their team chemistry and execution.
