LeBron James hits the game winner to put the Lakers in the seventh seed

Los Angeles- LeBron James hits a deep three pointer to stun the Golden State Warriors 103-100.

The Lakers' offense stalled a bit early in the first quarter and had to dig themselves out of a double digit lead. LA got back into the game after LeBron James and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope started a 6-0 run to cut Golden State's lead to single digits. On the defensive side of the floor, the Lakers kept the ball out of Stephen Curry's hand, as they doubled teamed him. For majority of the half, the Lakers' defensive strategy worked.

Los Angeles was very aggressive with pushing the pace of the game, but had trouble nailing wide-open shots and finishing lay-ups. They shot around 30% from the field and looked out of sync the entire first half. At the end of the break, the Lakers dug themselves in a 13 point hole, 55-42.

In the second half, James started to take over the game and helped the Lakers chop at the Warriors' lead. With under eight minutes left in the third, LA cut the Warriors' lead to one, but a couple minutes later, GSW went on a 7-0 run to go back up eight. Late into the quarter, Golden state turned the ball over five times and the Lakers made them pay, starting a 7-2 run. At the end of the third, the Lakers' cut the Warriors' lead to two.

For the first time in the game, the Lakers took the lead at the start of the fourth quarter. James and the Lakers' defense smothered Golden State and forced them to take ill-advised shots. It look like the Lakers were building momentum and a comfortable lead until Curry hit back to back threes to cut LA's lead to one.

With under .50 seconds left James hit a desperation three pointer to put the Lakers up three and that was the shot that won the game for LA 103-100.
