Lakers will have to play without fans in the upcoming season until further notice
Los Angeles- The Los Angeles Lakers' organization has decided to prohibit fans from entering the arena until they find a way to make everyone comfortable with a safe protocol.
Los Angeles sent out a press release earlier today explaining the situation at hand. "The health and safety of our fans, players, staff and community are our main priority and we will continue to work with state and local officials to come up with a plan to safely welcome fans back to STAPLES Center in adherence with local, State, and NBA guidelines."
"We appreciate your continued support and look forward to coming together, when it is safe to do so, to celebrate the raising of our banner and the quest for another NBA championship."
The NBA will start their 2020-2021 season December. 22 and face a lot of obstacles in front of them. Adam Silver wants fans to attend games in person, but wants everyone to enjoy themselves safely. COVID-19 cases have increased and the NBA has found themselves trying to come up with a plan right before the season opener.
It could be possible that fans could attend games in more so of a"Pod format" similar to what the NFL is doing in the near future, but right now, the NBA is concerned with stopping the spread.
